Another one bites the dust...

Another one bites the dust...

I already know I'm not making my minimum on my hall, but I just received an email today (yes, an email) from a couple who previously responded yes, who are now unable to make it to the reception. Bleh.

So far, I have two couples who said yes, that are now unable to come. I wonder how many more I'll be getting.

yeah, the same thing is happening to me. We were just informed yesterday my cousin is not coming, and we have to give our minimum to the hall tomorrow. Oh well.
We are also below our minimum, so I guess it doesn't really matter at this point.

Ladies, see if you can get extras added on to make up for those people not coming! You should get something out of it, right? I'm sorry but I wish you good luck that you can get some nice add-ons.

At least you got an email. :) I had to hunt a lot of people down. They didn't think they needed to tell me that they weren't coming. Then I kept getting the 'I'm taking a guest', 'make it minus 1', oh wait, I'm taking a guest again' calls. It started to get a little funny. Just put the pressure on.

I'm definitely going to ask about adding the raw bar now. There are plenty of people to make up for.

Unbelievable.

I don't know that I'm making my min either. My min is 100 and I invited over 200 people.

I am in the same situation. I don't know what to do. Do you think they will throw something else extra in since we will be paying for people not even there? What was your minimum?

I'm not sure, I'm meeting with my hall tonight so I'll definitely update you. My minimum was 175, we invited 232 and my last count was 162.

Good luck, I really hope they're cool about it. If you do the math to find out how much 13 people would have cost, they should be able to do something.

Let us know how it goes!

I know how frustrating it must be. I'm not there yet but I can imagine that if you 'sweat the small stuff', you will take away from these last few months of your planning and you should enjoy it now!! Your hard work is going to be paying off!!

My FMIL got an email today from a couple that responded yes & now they are not coming. Not sure of the reason why, because FMIL was to aggrivated to talk about it.

We got 3 cancellations (six people) in two days. We gave the RH a lower number at the final count but now we already are paying for two people that will not be eating!!

Re: Another one bites the dust...

I'm sorry to hear that - we just barely met our minimum, with vendors, and I've had one cancellation so far, and to add to that, one of my friends told me he's only stopping by because the date he's bringing has to be back in the city by 9 pm. Since he's a good friend of mine, I tried to explain that what he's planning to do is actually quite rude (I'm paying for 2 people and they're only coming for the cocktail hour - come now, a wedding is not like a party where you can just stop by for awhile), but he just didn't get it. All I can hope for is karma... when my friends get married, I want it all to come back to them. I'm the first one of most of my groups of friends to get married and there's just so much people don't get.

Sorry to hijack your post, I just had to vent for a moment. You should definitely ask them to add stuff in - I know many other brides on this site have successfully gotten extras when they've been below their minimum.
