I am in the midst of meeting with different photographers.
Other than obviously loving their work, what other things should I look for in a photog? Are there any questions I should be asking about the contract, or anything that can come up that I am not thinking of?

Make sure they have good reviews and are reliable and professional. Make sure you feel comfortable with them. Also, getting the most bang for your buck is important!

how many photos you get in the album if you want to add do they charge by the page or photo plus what would the charge be
do they retouch all photos our only the photos in the album

Make sure you get the rights to ALL of your proofs.....that way you can make prints on your own without having to order them.

Get reviews and look them up on BBB to see if they have had any complaints. We almost booked with a Photographer that we couldn't find any type of reviews on and when we looked him up on the BBB there was like 10 complaints against him. We liked his work but we just weren't sure if it was a scam.
Make sure they have a backup plan in case the photographer you choose is sick or has an emergency, make sure you have the rights to all of your photos otherwise you will have to buy them only from that photographer, make sure everything you talk about is included in the contract

another good question is what do you receive your proofs in/on? do they come in an album or a box? do you get a cd with all the pics on it?

Be sure to have the name of the photographer you choose in the contract.
