another protein question

another protein question

now that I have cut a lot of carbs out...my percentages are still not good...but this time its the fat!!!

yesterday I thought I did so good...but I ate 50% of my calories in fat !!!!!

so is it better to have more carbs with 15% of protein for the day...or more fat with 20% of protein for the day?

I'm not very good at this

I don't know.
no matter what I do I'm still a size 12- high carb, low carb, high fat, low fat.. whatever.

BUT what I can tell you is that when i was seeing my nutritionist I had my body fat measured weekly- I was eating like a LOT of my calories from Fat every day and my body fat went down- so I don't think it has to do w. anything.. I've made a new diet up for myself:

it consists of fruit & hardboiled egg or fruit & yogurt for breakfast.
sandwich on some type of whole grain bread for lunch
and then a low-carb dinner..

that's about 50 carbs a day and more protein than normal..

I'm only on my 2nd day- I'll let you know :)

If you are getting your protein from meat, chicken and nuts, you will be eating a lot of fat per day. If you have a supplement, like whey protein for one meal, like breakfast, you will cut out some of those fat calories. Egg whites are good too. Try to even it out that way.

I read that you should have between 20-25 grams of fat per day if you are trying to loose bodyfat. Thats about 225 calories per day. Instead of lowering your protein, use a low fat alternative, and don't lower your carbs to much, they are healthy for you and keep you energized.

Hope this helps.

Yabbo - Are you trying the 40-30-30 plan? This is a lot of work. What plan are you following?

Re: another protein question

there is no way that I could figure out the 40-30-30!! I can't get my percentages right at all!!!

what I have been eating...
egg white protein shake...with milk (this has 24 gr of fat...3 gr carb)
2 egg whites with one whole egg on piece of high fiber toast
tofu balls (made with tofu, egg, moz cheese)
cauliflower

(then at night I has a skinny cow...I know thats really not good...but hey...it isn't horrible either!!)
there was probably a banana in there too!

in my program it came out
29% carb
21% protein
50% fat

Are you body building??? this sounds like a diet my guy friends have. It's not bad, but I think it's for those who weight lift a lot. I could be wrong though. It wouldn't be the first time To me it sounds like a lot of fat in the protein shake maybe you could find a less fattenig protein shake there are tons on the market.

i don't know anything about this stuff, but at first glance it looks like way too many eggs - is that what is pushing your fat content so high???

Re: another protein question

ok, first of all get RID of the protein stuff you are eating. Buy DESIGNER protein. go to GNC, ask for it, get 1 tub, it is around $25-$30. It has no fat!!!! do not take this with milk!!!! Just water! Stir it up in a cup with a spoon.

Eat this either by itself, or have some sugar-free or low sugar, high fiber ceral in the morning.

three hours later, you can have a snack. a hand full of nuts, fruit, or maybe a fat-free yogurt.

For lunch, a salad with either olive-oil, vinegar dressing, not too much, or, fat free dressing with grilled chicken and some coliflower, or some other vegetable, tomatoes, pepers, etc.

three hours later, try to eat another healthy snack. Peanut butter, all natural, on a rice cake, or on an apple is delicious, or maybe half a protein bar.

for dinner, have chicken, fish or lean meat with vegetables, no butter, and either 1 small potato, or a cup of brown rice.

Have your small low fat ice cream if you did good for the day.

hope this helps.
