Another question.....

Another question.....

I am freaking out today with a million bride thoughts in my head...and I am very needy today. Sorry ladies.

Here's the situation: My ex roommate and I barely speak anymore (we still get along, just lives have taken us in difft directions). The last 3.5 years, we have seen each other once...and probably spoken on the phone 10 times (we talk on IM....usually once a month). He was very excited for me and FH when we got engaged...said he cant wait for the day. He's mentioned twice since then that he's still coming with his girlfriend (whom I've never met) ....so I've sent him a STD.

Here's the question: Do I have to really invite him? My guest list is out of control....I have been cutting people that I really couldn't afford. I really don't care if he comes or not...and considering we don't have much of a friendship anymore....

Anyway...I sent the STD..and we've spoken about the wedding....so I would be horribly rude to not send the invite right? I am pretty sure I know the answer...but kinda hoping someone say something else.

I think that if he got a STD, he needs to get an invite. JMO, sorry, I know that wasn't the answer you were looking for....

I will say that we sent a STD to someone and Frank never heard from him again. I mean, seriously, he never heard from him again. At the time, we were trying to cut people and so we didn't invite him.

What we didn't know was that we were going to fall so under our minimum that we could have invited whomever we wanted.

I'd say that you still have to, but take my advice and just do it. We didn't realize how many people we counted on taking guests, decided to fly solo to our wedding. Had we known, we would have invited even more!

I agree, sorry! If he got the STD, send him the invite. He may decline you never know, but even if he does come, I don't think it would matter when your big day comes, you'll be way too excited to care even.

Re: Another question.....

If you sent him a STD then technically you should invite him...BUT, if you really feel like he's not a 'friend' then don't, its up to you.....I mean if you do invite him, he could always say NO

we purposely never sent STD's because we werent sure who we were inviting at the time, and knew we would be obligated to send them invites....

I would agree. However, one of my bm's parents told me at least a dozen times they wanted to come to my wedding, so I sent a STD, then bm calls me up and says you didn't have to invite them, they can't even make it, so I didn't send an invite. Another couple also mentioned how much they wanted to come to the wedding, then i get the RSVP back, and guess what, they aren't coming. Why do people say they want to come if they really don't?
