yes...they wont even see you on certain days/times w/o one...You can go without but theres no guarentee you'll be seen...

yes, i already went to carle place and astoria which required appointment for trying on bridal dresses. fortunately, i did not need to wait that long. probably just about 5-10 minutes, which is not bad. and those appointments were done on saturday and sunday.
if u are interested in bridemaid's dresses, u don't need an apppointment.
