Another question about DVR -- pardon my ignorance

OK, so as some of you know, we're having DVR installed on Thursday. A thought occurred to me and I'm sorry if it's stupid, but I was wondering.

Let's say I'm watching a show and the phone rings and I pause the live show for 10 minutes. I go back, unpause and watch the rest of my show. Now, everything on that channel is 10 mins behind because I paused for 10 mins. How do I get the channel back to real time and watch what is on at that time?

if drv is like tivo - you can just go back to where you paused the show and pick up from there.

on tivo there is a button that will jump ahead so that you are back in real time. but if it's only 10 minutes you'll probably catch up pretty quickly b/c of all the commercials.

for the rest of your life, you will always be 10 minutes behind. . .even after you shut off the tv. . .

Seriously, there is the wonderful little thing called the 'live button'
so, say you pause a show, and come back to it, unpause, watch a little, then get to a commercial. You can either FF through the commercial, Or you can hit live & it takes yu to current time. If you misssed some stuff, you can rewind.

Don't be scared Don, your world will be a happy happy place when you have a DVR

there is a 'Live' button but be careful, once I dont know how it happened one of us must have pressed something by mistake I was 30 min. behind... so here I am waiting for Olympics to start at 7 pm and still I see news on, so I swear curse at the TV and then I figured that I wasnt watching TV Live so I missed like 30 minutes of Olympics

also if you change the channel you will go back to real time.

Advice: If you pause something and begin watching from that point, keep your hands off the remote. Or make sure you look at it to FWD through commercials. There's nothing more frustrating than missing the rest of the show bc you changed the channel by mistake.

If you ever want to go back to real time... you just press the LIVE button.

I am sure you will become quite the expert once you actually get the unit installed.
