My father died almost 20 years ago (still with me every day) and I want to dance the Father/Daughter dance starting with my mom and then a little with each sibling, then all together. I need a song that will have the 'feeling of the moment' if that makes sense. I just spent the last hour listening to the songs on this site. A little teary I must say. Just didn't find what I THINK I'm looking for.
Any ideas?

Re: Another question...song
Did you dad have a favorite song?.... FH mom passed away over 10 years ago. We are dancing to 'wind beneath my wings' along with all his siblings and their significant others.

I think it is great that you are making your own twist on a generally traditional part of a wedding.
How about 'When I Look to the Sky' by Train?

What about Angels by Robbie Williams? That song always makes me weep uncontrollably and think of my grandmother who passed away years ago.

Daddys Hands- back in the day it was sung by an Irish singer, but its more common now so you can just put it into youtube and find better versions then the original

Re: Another question...song
I thought about doing something like this beginning a dance with my godfather, having my stepfather cut in and then possibly ending the dance with my new father in law. In the end I personally decided that it was too stressful and emotional for me, but the song that I chose was called Soldier's Daughter by Tonic and some of the lyrics are 'Hey little girl keep dancing, hey little girl, keep dancing alone. 'Cause there's not enough time in your life to stay here. So over the hills he'd climb just to see her there in time. Just to watch the sun shine through her dress' It was a song that always made me think of my dad and the reference to keep dancing anyway and watching her in a dress makes me cry (now) and when I think about it.
