Another Race Against Time Question

As some of you may remember, last week I posted asking about whether it was okay to take pictures before the wedding so as to save time b/w the Mass (at 11:00 am) and the cocktail hour (12:30 pm) and most of you said yes. One of my bridesmaids raises the point, however: 'How are four bridesmaids and one bride going to get hair and makeup done before 9-9:30 am (assuming we leave for the church at 10:15 ish -we live a decent distance from the Mass site) on a Saturday morning?'
Where I'm from (Texas) the tradition is for the whole bridal party including mothers, to go to a salon where all are worked on simultaneously and all are ready at the same time, more or less. With the tradition here being one makeup gal and I guess one hair gal...how on earth amd I going to get this done? I raised the idea of the bridesmaids doing their own hair and makeup (I know two will want to do their own for sure) and FH said 'No. That's not the way it's done up here.' (He is a little obsessed with 'the way it's done up here' but that's another story.) And what about our mothers? Grandmothers? WHAT TO DO????

You can't possibly have to worry about everyone in that time frame. A friend of mine did it and we had to be at the recption hall which was 45 minutes from my house by 9:30 am. They had 2 hair and make-up ladies at the house and gave us the option if we wanted to do that or get our hair and make-up done on our own. Several went to her house and the rest did it on their own and we all made it. Explain to your FI the trade-off to sticking with tradition is missing your coctail hour. Otherwise you will need to be up getting beautiful at 4:00 in the morning@

I think the only reason most girls have a hair/makeup person come to them is for convienence. Sounds like going to a salon is more convienent for your situation. Find a salon who can take all your party and once. Im sure there are lots out there.

I am going to the salon for hair with my bridal party. We will be worked on by different people so we will all be done at the same time. If you can do makeup at the same salon maybe they can arrange for more than one girl to to the makeup. If you have someone comming to your house for makeup ask if she has an assistant, most do.
My friend had an early day too and the salon opened early for her.

Speak to a salon and ask them if they can have everyone done together by the time you need. If not have all of your girls come to home READY by the time you need. They can figure out who to do their hair and makeup themselves.

I left my house at 9:15...they came at 7:00, had 2 hair people and they did 5 people's hair...actually 1 more could have been done...

they said they have gone to houses even earlier...this is their business and they know that sometimes they have to sacrifice sleeping late on the weekends for a job...
