Re: another registry question?
I think the 'usual' choice is between Henckles and Wustof for knives. I'm still not sure which one to register for, so I'm curious to hear which people chose and why

Re: another registry question?
My FH loves to do research on this stuff (mainly used COnsumer Reports) so he picked out the knife set...FILs upgraded the set we chose since the store was out of the one we registered for...It's Henckels International Classic 7 piece block set.

We got Henckles though I think either company is fine. You should make sure, however, that the knives have forged steel with the metal running from the top to the end of the knife so it won't snap off. You should be able to see the metal run through it.

We were told that for basically the same price, Wustoff was better....so that's what we're going with

We actually registered for Global at Willams-Sonoma. They are great because they are extremely light and comfortable to use, plus the saleslady told us they don't require as much maintenance/sharpening as Henkles or Wustof. You should go somewhere to try them out and see which feels most comfortable.

First off DO NOT get this one: Cuisinart 15-Piece Cutlery Set In Stainless Steel Knife Vault
It looks cool but the case is really cheap. I ordered it and sent it back right away.
I almost bought a Henckels set until I came across Anolon at Macys. The grip is really soft and it has a lifetime waranty.
