I am sorry for being so annoying with this. I can't seem to figure it out for myself. My date is 11.09.02 - we are getting married at Oheka Castle and NOBODY is from Long Island. Most from Jersey , w. Westchester and NYC in a close second. A few stragglers from CA. I have set aside rooms at the Hilton in Huntington for people that might want to stay. Should I send Save the Date Cards with this info in there to everybody? When should I send them? Thanks guys.

Another Save the Date Question
I sent mine 6 months in advance to guests outside the tri-state area. It probably didn't need to be that early, but I wanted to send them with Christmas/Hanukkah cards. My wedding is a Sunday afternoon - so I figured the folks from Westchester and New Jersey wouldn't stay over night. If yours is Saturday night, and you think people may want to stay over, definately send them. Some folks send to everyone on the list, even local people just to make sure they know when it is. In the end, you can't really go wrong :-) do what makes sense to you!

Another Save the Date Question
My Wedding 11-2-02 (right near yours). I also have many out of town guest. I am sending my STD cards to everyone on my guest list. SonicStef told me that she was able to find a few wrong addresses by doing that. Cheaper to send a STD card and have to resend it then your wedding invites because of an incorrect or old address.
I got mine from www.cardstore.com. They even address and stamp the cards for you. I put the hotel information card into the envelope for all of my guests. I know that a lot of my family members (even the ones that live on LI) want to stay in the hotel that night, so they don't have to drive home so late.

Another Save the Date Question
I designed my own STDs on my computer using clip art. They include hotel & transportation info. I used pretty floral envelopes from Staples & sealed them with heart stickers. I sent them out about 6 months in advance.
If you'd like, I could email mine to you as a attachment (it's a word document) If you're interested let me know -- my email is [email protected]

I am sending mine this week.
I got cardstore.com to address and stamp my cards, they sent them to me and I put the hotel cards and a STD magnet (www.favorlady.com) into them.
Cardstore.com also has really nice postcards too. But if you have no inserts they send them directly to your guests for you. No extra charge either, just pay for the stamp.
