Another sending invites question...

Another sending invites question...

Another post reminded me of a question i have. My aunt on my dad's side is doing a reading at my wedding. We aren't super close because she lives in Az so I don't see her often... love her of course though! Anyway, she sent a small engagement gift (only 2 people did- my family isn't like that, but she was one of them).
Anyway, considering her role in the wedding and her location, and the fact that she already sent a gift... do I send her a shower invite?
There is no way she'll make it and I don't want to seem like I'm asking for a gift but I don't know if it would be rude not to send one.
My dad originally thought no- not to send one because it looks like asking for a gift... but my parents have their own rules of etiqute that i often disagree with.
Also, this aunt was kept in the dark about a family secret (my sister not talking to my parents for years and getting married and divorced... long story but everything is great now). My dad is private but my mom is not so her side knew everything. Anyway, i just am including this because when my aunt found out recently (from my sister who didn't know she didn't know), she was really upset that she wasn't told...
So she might be offended if I don't include her.
Ideas?
TIA

I think you should def. invite her out of respect. If she does/doesn't send you a gift that is her choice at least she is invited and won't be offended

We will be sending a few shower invites to OOTers just out of courtesy, so I don't see why not.

She might just decide to come after all if you send her an invite, so I say do it!!!

I think you should definitely send her one and then call her up and tell her you know it's rough travelling here again and you wish she could be there but you understand that she can't.

Definatly send it. Even if you know she can't go, its nice to know she's invited.

Re: Another sending invites question...

i had this issue with my mom, she didn't want to send shower invites to anyone OOT I thought it was rude to assume they can't/won't / didn't want to come and as far as gifts , I received a few engagement gifts from people who surprised us (we didn't have a party or anything) I said send them all out!!
