another 'should i be mad' question

there's a family and 1 couple that i invited but one person of each cant make it. Do you think its ok for these people to just assume its ok to bring someone else in their place? I invited x and y, not blank and blank. its not a friggin picnic people.
has this happened to anyone else?

uhhh not cool. if FH couldn't come to a wedding with me, i would never bring a friend instead. that is very rude.

Yeah a few of my friends who I invited as a couples have told me that they are bringing a friend instead. Yes it annoys me - but Im playing it cool.

And not that im in it for the gift but I bet they dont even give one for the random friend that they are bringing.

Does it really matter? You reserved two seats, so does it really matter who sits in those two seats? I invited two of my co-workers with their husbands, but they decided to each bring a friend instead. They figured they'd have more fun that way. Doesn't make a difference to me.

yeah it does cuz i still have tons of people that i want to invite. plus its not like she doesnt know anyone at the wedding. plus its not freakin fair- its rude. i just texted her right now and told her straight up- let me know cuz i have 4 cousins who are dating people and were invited alone.

i think generally people are so ridiculously rude, and yea, i'd be upset...but i'd also say you probably shouldn't be mad, just because it's a waste of energy. i invited one woman and her 18 year old son, both without a date. they sent back the reply card with 4 people coming. WTH?

I wouldn't be mad...I guess it might bother me a bit, but I already expected them with a guest. The thing is, I want everyone invited to have an amazing time and if that means they need to bring a friend...welcome....come party. The happier they are, the more fun they will have, the better the party will be. I think some people may feel uncomfortable coming alone.

That's very rude. If that one person can't make it, then they don't cub them for someone else.

i mean it depends. i think in your situation, for the couple, i think its okay if they call you and ask you first. otherwise, its very iffy and i might be a little annoyed that they just assumed it was okay. that said, if i knew the person they were brininging like a sister or mom, friend who i had met before, i dont think it would be that big of a deal.

i invited a friend with a guest (not in a relationship) and she brought her friend which i didnt mind because a guest to me implies basically anyone you want, not necessarily a 'date'.

anyway, the family one is weird to be honest, who are they brininging? that would annoy me because its not like they dont have other people who theyll know if they are having other family members in their party

Yeah, I have some people invited with guests and some without and if the people invited with guests chose someone random to come i would be upset that i couldnt use that extra seat to then invite... say a cousins date or something instead.

For the couple, its my staff member and I invited her with her husband. She said she was going to bring her boyfriend (joke) meaning I dont know who the heck she would bring. she told my other staff member that she wanted to bring someone else cuz she wont know anyone at the wedding (lie, she is going to know the entire table). so i told her to let me know if her hubby's not going cuz i have other people who i want to invite.

as for the family, it was the first time, so i had to let it pass. the couple was the second time, so i have to start putting the kabash on it. i cant let everyone person invite random people. i wont know anyone at my wedding lol! my parents are already inviting people that i dont know!
