Buy something different then what is on the persons registry? For example I know that the expresso maker they registered for got HORRIBLE reviews online. Is it wrong to get them something that got better reviews ( the same price if not more) and call and have the other one taken off the registry since you technically got it for them ??????????
OR
Should I just buy the one they registered for and if they hate it ( like all the reviews say they will) let them deal with it?

I think it's fine to get the better one. You can explain it to them later. Someone did that with our knives.

Yea they prob didnt even research it before they registered for it..
I would get the better one and tell them why later.. or ask someone close to them if they chose that particular one for a reason

It seems really forward to do that - we don't know why people choose the things they do! Maybe get them something different and then drop them an email letting them know what you found on the bad one...??

why not ask the person hypothetically- they don't have to know what it is

I think you should lget the one that is rated better. They probably didn't have the reviews...why would they register for one that is no good? When you give it to them you can tell them why you bought the one you did and give them a gift receipt in case they really loved the other one. but at least you won't feel badly giving them one that's not good land then they would be stuck with it!

I think it'll be fine to do that and get them the better one. I'd rather have someone do that for myself.

You might want to mention it to them so they don't get a better one from you and the horrible one from someone else. At least that way they can remove it from the registry. I got some pretty wonderful stuff that I never put on my registry
