I know in the business world, it is normal to send out 'thank yous' to people you've interviewed with, thanking them for their time, etc. Is it normal to send a thank you after an education interview? Also, with those big panel interviews, if it is normal to send one out- who do you send it to? I'm just starting this process and i'm a little confused.

i am. it can't hurt but it can make you look like a better candidate and stand out from the crowd. i think you should and i've been told by others in the field that you should to, but it's utimately up to you.

Re: another teacher question
definitely send a thank-you! if it's a small panel, send one to each person; if it's a large group, send it to the adminstrator(s) that interviewed you!

Re: another teacher question
I have always sent one to everyone on the panel including the parent (if there is one) It is the proper thing to do and gives you an opportunity to be more memorable!

Re: another teacher question
Coming from the teacher world and having been exposed to the interview process, and interviewing staff myself....the principals usually don't read their mail. I did go to a job fair in FLA and was hired but couldn't take the job due to some circumstances that arised. I sent the principal a thank you letter despite the fact I knew she probably didn't read it, but it's really up to you.
