Another travel question, because we don't know where to go...

Has anyone ever been to Catalina Island in California? What is there to do there? Is it worth it?

We are so confused, we are trying to decide between Vancouver/Seattle/Portland or San Diego/LA or an all inclusive in Mexico... AAHHH!!! I just want to go somewhere!!!!
