another wedding band ?- for me

My e-ring is a solitaire princess cut (square) on a thin white gold setting. I want a wedding band with diamonds either all around or just across the top. We went looking for rings the other day and the woman at the jewelry store says I should look for square diamonds for the wedding band bc the round ones won't go well with the eng ring. What do you think?

I think you should try both on and see what you like better, then decide.

I have a princess solitare also. I like the way a band with square diamonds looks better than with the round. I haven't ordered one yet though.

I would think the square ones would match better, but I'd have to see them both.

That is very similar to mine. I think I might go with round diamond all around but set in square settings. It is what my jeweler recommended. You may want to try that... good luck.

i have a sim ring too and on some rings unless you look very close you can't tell the difference, see what you like and then just go with it....no one will ever look to see if your stones match!!

I have a princess cut diamond e-ring with two side baguettes. When I originally looked for my band, I thought I would have to get square stones to match (I originally wanted something similar to what you described). The first ring someone made for me was sqaure diamonds all the way around. It was gorgeous but a little too much for me (yes - I said too much diamonds - I know I am weird).

As I kept looking, to my surprise, I found round diamonds in square setting (like with the bar on each side of the diamond) also looks good. And the round stones tend to shine more than the square diamonds.

I wound up getting three baguettes with a bar between and with two round stone in the square/bar setting on each end.

I guess what I am saying is surprisingly they both looked good - matter of personal preference. Try them both and see what suits your taste! Good Luck!
