HI I posted the other day and can't locate it... The situation is : Below is the wedding invite wording I want.
Since my FIL's are only contributing, my parents suggested that I write a more traditional wording saying 'son of Mr. & Mrs.__________' since the FIL's and my parents don't speak (issues )
This is what I would like:
Please join Mr. & Mrs. Jack _________ and Mr. & Mrs. Glen _________ when their children _______ & _______ exchange wedding vows and become husband and wife at half past ten in the morning September tweltfh, two thousand four
The Sans Souci Sea Cliff, New York
What do you guys think - should I do what they suggest?? I like this - it's different... anyone?

I like both of them to be honest - I think it just comes down to your personal preference. If it was me though - I'd go with your version.

Re: Another wedding invite dilemma
Wait - I'm confused - your in-laws are contributing to the wedding, or aren't???

Re: Another wedding invite dilemma
Honestly, the wording shouldn't have anything to do with who's contributing. You should do what you think is best. I had both sets of parents on top, because I thought it was right to acknowledge both sets of parents equally.

Re: Another wedding invite dilemma
Inlaws are contributing but not as much as my parents would like...they are paying what they think is enough even though when it comes time for FSIL's wedding - it'll be a huge expensive affair + my parents and his aren't speaking - such a horrible start! We aren't even married yet! I couldnt' even write down all the screwed up things that have happened since we got engaged!
I spoke to my parents a few minutes ago and told them I liked that wording and that was what I wanted...so they said whatever I want is fine with them...PHEW
Everything is an issue! UGH!!!
