Another week, another snide comment from FMIL
Sigh.
Since we decided against a BP, FMIL had offered to host an 'engagement shower' for all of our friends and family here in DC. Before I accepted, I specifically asked to have a hand in the planning )as her taste level is not incredibly high). After our first conversation, I said that it would make me happier if we could have it in or immediately around DC proper as that is where I live and my friends don't really have cars (she lives over an hour away).
She went on and on about how she wants to host in her own home and then said that if she went outside her house, she would have it across the street at the CC that they belong to.
After FH and I discussed, we agreed to have a day event (so we don't encourage ridic drinking since our friends live in DC and Baltimore- a good hour if not more away from her location) at the CC and hope that our friends can carpool.
She just had a complete hissy fit at him that I don't think her house is nice enough, bla bla bla. Well, she only has 1.5 bathrooms and doesn't keep a clean kitchen. I am so over this. I thought he was about to punch her through the phone.
