Another Wording Question

Ive read in a few etiquette books that you are not supposed to write Mrs & Mr. (parents of the bride) request the honour of your presence if you are not getting married in a church. In other words, 'Honour' is reserved for Church weddings.
Anyone else heard of this? Do you think it matters?
