so my toofuses are still killing me. i refused to have surgery before going away because i wont be in the country for a week post op. so i wanted to play it safe even though i'll be suffering a lil.
as a precaution to the anticipated pain, infection, inflammation, etc i am bringing about 5 diff medications with me.
can i bring them in my carry on?????? i do NOT want to leave the meds in my luggage incase some1 breaks in and steals them.(vicodin)
will security stop me and question me and treat me like a drug addict??

Are the meds in your name? If they are they cant do anything. My dad needs to bring alot of meds when he flys- as long as they are in your name it will be ok

No. FH took on his carry on his pain medication (prescription from DR) for his migraines and they asked what it was for and he said for his migraines (they also saw the label on the bottle from the pharmacy). Clearly, if you were bringing drugs, then yea they would question, but they can't question pain medications that people take daily and rely on.

i would call the airport and ask about medication in carryons...
i honestly dont think they will say anything... as long as none of the drugs are illegal and youre not carrying around like an entire bag full of them...

NO DO NOT DO THIS!!! I KNOW FOR A FACT!!!! You will have to put in your luggage I wouldn't risk it!
I only say this cause I have had some clients that got stopped at baggage for this very reason.. Even if they let you bring it in carry on it still will delay you and most likely stop you to ask questions.. ANY hold up is not good when your traveling

as long as your name is on the prescription they cant bother you. My dad needed to carry 8 different meds with him after his heart surgery and they just checked his licenses against the name on the pilss and let him go

When we went to Florida in September I had DH's prescription anti-inflammatory meds in my bag. We traveled there and back on Jet Blue and they didn't give us a problem.
On the way back I had bad allergies and asked if I was allowed to take sudafed on the plane and they said yes. I didnt ask about the prescription meds because I had brought it there no problem.

from the TSA website:
You may bring all prescription and over-the-counter medications (liquids, gels, and aerosols) including petroleum jelly, eye drops, and saline solution for medical purposes.
Additional items you may bring include:
Liquids including water, juice, or liquid nutrition or gels for passengers with a disability or medical condition; Life-support and life-sustaining liquids such as bone marrow, blood products, and transplant organs; Items used to augment the body for medical or cosmetic reasons such as mastectomy products, prosthetic breasts, bras or shells containing gels, saline solution, or other liquids; and, Gels or frozen liquids needed to cool disability or medically related items used by persons with disabilities or medical conditions. You are not limited in the amount or volume of these items you may bring in your carry-on baggage. BUT if the medically necessary items exceed 3 ounces or are not contained in a one-quart, zip-top plastic bag, you MUST declare to one of our Security Officers at the checkpoint for further inspection.

I always carry ALL my medication on my carry on.
If you are worried, bring your old DL with you.
But they are legally prescribed, you should have no problem at all.

Yes I just flew three days ago and had no problems. All prescriptions are in my name though.
Also, in some airports there is a separate security line for prescriptions (its the one for families with small children who have formula) and its much shorter and goes super fast, so its worth it to bring them just to go threw security faster lol

Just FedEx the drugs to where ever it is you are going.
