Antibride-more info

I also saw your post on the vendor board...I also checked out the Nassau County Museum of Art. I have a packet of info from them. You need to pay a membership fee, security, photography donation and a museum donation. Depending on where in the museum you are having your reception, the total is between $3,000.00 and $5,000.00 for the site. Music is restricted to a band or classical only-no DJs permitted. You are also limited to a choice between 3 caterers.
Let me know if you're interested in seeing the info I have-I'd be more than happy to pass it along!

Not sure if Brooklyn is an option but there is a beautiful Boat House in Prospect Park. I would have loved to have my wedding there but it will only seat about 80. Definitely not your normal wedding space but beautiful and elegant.

Thanks Lelee! I'm actually going to be in town (I now live out of state) in a few weeks and me, my future hub and the old mother are trekking out there to check it out. Thanks for your help though. It does seem pricey - Did you make a decision with your reception place yet? We're looking at 15th and West, The Queens County Fram Museum, the art museum and East Winds Catering - do you have any insight on any of them? It's been tough because I'm trying to find stuff from LA - my mom is looking (she's in Nassau County) but it's been really difficult because I think our ideas are quite different! Anyway, sorry for going on. Thanks again! And good luck...

The art museums and East Wind are very different types of venues. I mean, you will have a totally different feel from that selection. East Wind is very nice, but it is a wedding reception place. The museums are not. There is also a huge cost difference between all of those venues. Just thought you might like to know that.
