Antique / Antique Style Engagement rings!

Hi,
Does anyone on this board have an antique or antique style engagement ring as I am looking for ideas. Any vendors recommended in the NY area?
Thanks

Here is mine.

Check out http://www.tacori.com . Also I think Elsa Jewelers on this website has some nice rings to look through and a good selection. And this site Robbins 8th and Walnut has a lot of e-rings in general and excellent service. That is where we actually got mine from.

You should try Christian Bernard Jewelers in the Roosevelt Field Mall or Walt Whitman Mall. My friend really wanted one and that is where she got her setting!! (I thing Roosevelt Field has more).

Also look at Tacori rings. I think the website is www.tacori.com

Are you planning to shop together? Or are you just sending hints to your boyfriend?

We spent about a month looking. Tiffany's has of course the best diamonds, but their settings are all plain and modern looking and they won't let you bring your own setting and purchase their diamond.

I think I will have my e-ring re-set in an antique style one of these days, I really like the look. Alina, I have never seen your ring, but that's nice.

You girls make me blush.

Shamma, if you like you can see it at the GTG.

I took this picture to my local jewler in massapequa & customized it a little. The scrolling work is now in 18k yellow gold, b/c my FH refuses to wear a platinum wedding band. The stone is a 1.5C princess with 58 factes in a 4 prong.
All the details were custom done. FM me for info.

ugh...sorry - the pic is too big to send.

My SO got my ring at Estate Jewelers of Huntington...they have antiques as well as beautiful reproductios - which is what mine is. The 2 sides of the setting that don't have diamonds, have scroll work. FM me if you're interested in the artist - I'll send you his website.

Thanks everyone!
Alina-we are going to shop together as we have diffrent tastes so figure better to be on the safe side!

We had somewhat different styles too. What helped was showing each other online pictures and of course shopping together in person.

But in all honesty, I think you should get something that you like, not what boyfriend likes, b/c you're the one who'll have to wear it. I mean he has to approve it, but I would buy something if he loves it and you think its 'blah'

Re: Antique / Antique Style Engagement rings!

My BF has no patience for shopping so I know that he could go out one day and return with a ring and I would probably love it , but I still feel the need to look around myself and make the decision-Control Freak! I drive him nuts as I think I have decided on one type and then see another and want than one. I am like this with everything so why should this be any diffrent!!
