We clean the counters everyday and they just keep coming!
I am scared to buy ant traps since we have a cat. I just hate seeing and stomping these things everyday!!!!

i would 100% get traps! a while back FH had them in his old apartment and we used traps and they 100% work. just make sure you put them where your cat can't get to it. like, under the sink. GL!!

I'm having the same problem.. My Landlord didn't do a good job with sealing some cracks.. And they come in by my back door by the swarms!!!!
I can't use much to get rid of them because of my dog and my kids. So I think I'm gonna start caulking because its just sickening, when they do come out!

There's a white powder you can get and pour along your baseboards and outside along the edge of your home. It's not harmful to pets. I forgot what it was called... Borox maybe? I could be way off on the name, but Lowe's or Home Depot should be able to tell you.

I think you are right about Borax. I will look into it. I may just get a few traps and put them under the sink bc it is ridiculous!
I just need to hire a cat trainer and train my little Lucy to catch the ants. She just stares at them now. lol

We have this problem every year...we also use traps (we just put them out on the counter where the ants come) and its not a problem. We have 4 cats and its not affected them thus far.

I swear the same thing is happening at FH apartment. ants everywhere on the counters i freaked out and sprayed all the suckers with Raid.. hopefully that should do it.. I havent seen them sick!! it was soo gross. i felt there were ants all over me for days!!! lol

This happends to us in the spring- I use ant traps. They are ugly but they do the job. I also use a bug spray that is safe to use around food and pets it is called talstar one. I bought it on ebay you cannot get it in the store. It is water soluble and has no odor.

Get bay leaves and scatter them around...works everytime! We keep a bay leaf in each drawer and in the corners of the counters and we havent had ants in forever!

this works! the other thing that works really well is cayenne pepper powder but that can get messy too. . but ants DONT like it!!!

We are goin through the same right now! Tons of tiny tiny ants everywhere! we tried the raid traps... they dont work for shitttttt.... instead we have some hot shot spray that we sprayed and let dry over the counter and it seems to be working... not to mention it kills on contact!
we have 2 cats... we put them in another room while we sprayed and let it dry... then we let them out... the cats be totally be fine

Don't waste your time with traps. They didn't work! I am completely OCD about cleaning and couldn't figure out why we were getting ants on our counter so I bought a spray from Home Depot that FSIL recommended and it worked INSTANTLY. We haven't had one come back yet. I forget the name of it but it's a white spray bottle with a red label, it was like $5 bucks. I sprayed it in all the cracks against the wall.

I have 3 kitties and they dont bother with the traps...I have the ones that look like a little dome so the cats really can't get to the bad stuff and I just shove them under the radiators and behind things so they won't touch them

cucumber slices - i know it sounds wierd, but you just put them out, kills the ants, throw away.
