I loved the Watermill at first...Then when I went back, I was not so impressed...It might be bc we went to see the Floral Terrace & that was breathtaking...One wedding at a time, then we went for a food tasting & the food was amazing...Problem is, the minimums are so high there...175 for a Friday....
I believe we will be back at the Watermill...I have the church booked...

Re: Any 2006 Brides?
JP&EP - Wow, I don't blame you getting as much as possible done. It's wonderful he wants to be a part of it. How long is FI expected to be there?? You guys will be in my prayers!!
Kissy - We dealt with Brian, he was great! He brought us up a little platter of food to taste, answered all of our questions, and was so helpful! We have the Astor room (the room upstairs) and as long as the weather is nice the CH will be outside! It was the first place FI and I looked and we knew immediately that it was 'The Place.' After looking at other places, nothing could compare in our minds. We're so excited! If there's any other info you want, let me know. We're going to the showcase they're having on June 30th to see some of their other vendors. We booked Patken for photo/video. I've seen some of ADA's work and it's great! If there's any other info you want on the Watermill, let me know!

175 for a friday, oy that's a problem. but we can prob do it, if we just invite everyone we know...umm, are you free friday nov 3, 2006? come to my wedding, it'll be fun. i know, i'll just do what that couple did on e-bay, have an auction. seriously, thats high, but maybe we can work with them. if you don't mind, what price range are you looking at? b/c we would like $50-75 a head, which is know is low, but i know there are places on LI that we can get that at. (pardon the bad grammar)

Re: Any 2006 Brides?
Thanks for your prayers. The minimum time will be 6 months in the Middle East. He then leaves for Italy in Approx. March of 05. After that he should be able to stay (Lord willing) stateside for quite a while.

My FI will be shipping out to the Middle East very soon, so I wanted to involve him in as much of the decision process as possible while he was still stateside.
he will be in my prayers. my cousin's husband is in afgan. now, they got married before he was deployed. we will all be here for you once he leaves.

I'm sure everything will work out in the end . Everything happens for a reason and maybe this is just your first real test!

Re: Any 2006 Brides?
Kissy, 175 minimum for the Watermill? We're having a Saturday night, and we only have to guarantee 150. You might want to check with them again, 25 people is a BIG difference. Unless of course you are looking at the downstairs room which is much bigger and has a higher minimum.

Oops! Sorry about that Kissy! Must have read the post too quickly!!
We booked at the beginning of Feb. this year. The showcase must have just been announced because usually I get something in the mail and I haven't seen anything yet, but it's posted on their website. It's June 30th and I think it starts at 7:00.

Re: Any 2006 Brides?
LeeMarie, Just saw the showcase...I have to call & make reservations! FH wanted to taste the food...Perfect opportunity to get something out of it!
I was a little hesitant about going their bc I got a bad review 2 weeks ago...But they were in the downstairs room & there was 300 people...The girl is going to another wedding this weekend...But I think I am going to tell FH to go with them!
Are you using the Holiday Inn Express for guests??
