Any 2007 Puerto Rican brides besides me?! I need some help!
Ok im 100% puerto rican and im trying to make a list of songs for my wedding and my family just loves merengue and i cant seem to find any good up beat merengue songs. can any of you ladies suggest any good ones i can play at my wedding. thanks!!

I'm 50% PR and i'm having the same issues..i'd love to see what others are doing..all I know is some old school merengue

Boricua right here!! ...well, a fake boricua..I was born here in the Bronx ..is ur DJ hispanic?? I was looking enough to find a puerto rican DJ..so he knows exactly what I am looking for when it comes to spanish music

ok i'm dominican.... . I would say that old school merengue is better for dancing than the new stuff. That new stuff is a lot like reggeaton mixed in with other stuff. But you can't go wrong with old school =0) like merengue tipico. I would ask your dj.. I did and hes italian and he's pretty up to date.

no hes not hispanic. i went to my cousins wedding on friday and let me tell you , what a freaken wedding! both sides where hispanic and that was a hell of a wedding i wish i remembered the djs name because they were out of this world!! i found a few good up beat merengue songs i might use. i sit with my dj march 22nd and im going to see if he has anything i can listen to and see if i like it

Born in PR, but I'm clueless! Someone suggested having everyone write a song they'd like to hear at the reception when they send back their responses. That way you can compile a playlist from songs you know everyone will dance to.

I'm going to have to filter the dirty merengue and reggaeton at my wedding! There are some songs that I just won't play bc I sooo many people from my church will be there.
I def recommend listening to 105.9 for some ideas. Also almost ALL DJs will play Suavemente - Elvis Crespo.
1- Me Rompio El Corazon..............La Makina 2- Tu Me Provocas....................Tony 'Tun Tun' 3- Pegame Tu Vicio...................Eddie Herrera 4- Subido En El Palo.................Banda Gorda 5- Enamoradito.......................Zache 6- Tu Fotografia.....................Zafra Negra 7- Las Mujeres Feas..................Boy From Bonao 8- Enamorado.........................Los Toros Band 9-Pa'l Bailador......................Los Sabrosos Del Merengue 10-Celoso............................Mania
You also try checking out this cd - Los Mejores Del Merengue 2006 CD...some songs are really fast. I think to dance to it you have to jog in place LOL.

not an 07 PR bride but Im having the same problem as you. i picked out all my salsa and bachata but cant seem to think of any merengue. im just gonna let my dj play good old school songs.

we made sure to book a puerto rican DJ, 'Elegancia Entertainment', and we just left the song selections us to them. they truly knew just the exact mix of salsa, merengue, bacchata, etc. to play!
