Hi! Just wondering if anyone has any good remedies for relieving stress? I am a teacher and it has been crazy, since it is the end of the year, and to make things worse, I found out a few weeks ago that I am being excessed for next year. =( I have been really upset and stressed out. Last night I was up the entire night with bad palpitations. Hoping to get a good night's sleep tonight! Thanks so much!!!!!!!!

Re: Any Advice?
Have you tried working out? I've found working out tires me so much that I sleep well at night, and it causes breathing and heart rates to return to normal. Also try yoga. Good luck!

I have been incredibly stressed out, more than I ever have been in my life..the things that have worked for me are 1) watching a really funny movie, 2) yoga, 3) a nice warm bath, candles, a glass of wine and Sarah Mclaughlin or Eva Cassidy, 4) A nice bottle of wine 5) shopping 6) getting my hair done, nails, etc. 7) more wine I have found that laughing works wonders, being around funny people has really been amazing for me..I hope you are able to find something that destresses you soon!!!

Re: Any Advice?
nothing like a nice pedicure or facial or massage
something about the feeling of being touched thats very comforting
eat chocolate- the chemicals in it instantly make you happier
working out ....something that gets your aggression out works well

YES exercise is a great way to release stress. You could also write in a journal. Sometimes when you are really freaking out. Taking the time to write your feelings out and then read them back puts things into perspective. Also try writing not only things that are upsetting you but things that are really positive in your life...

I love working out when I am stressed. I also find that listening to music and singing help me. There is a song out there for every emotion and occasion.

I agree with working out...it makes you forget about the stress for a while and calms you down. Best of luck and feel better.

Re: Any Advice?
It's easier said than done .. but try to take mental breaks .. think happy thoughts .. do something nice for someone else .. do something nice for yourself .. take a deep breath and allow yourself to daydream .. sing your favorite song .. just try to do as many little things as you can to change your mind-set.
Believe me, I'm stressed too .. but I'm trying to do what I can to break the cycle and not let it overwhelm me .. which is hard.
But I'm a happier person when I keep happy thoughts and don't allow myself to get sucked into dwelling on stressful situations.
