don't drink the water.

i second that

also, stay at all inclusive (dreams was amazing!), if your booking activities it sometimes cheaper to not book through hotel concierge, so def price out activities while your there

i think it depends on the place........in cancun i stayed at the royal in cancun and everything was super clean and i ate and drank whatever i wanted and didn't get sick once......but when i went to the dominican republic i would say don't drink the water (everything there got me sick)....but again that just might of been the place i stayed at.........

Where in Mexico Mrs. M? If you go to a resort area like Cancun, the water is treated and is very safe to drink. All inclusives are nice and many times are more affordable but you are limited to the property. If you want options and flexibility try a property like Royal Resorts in Cancun or Mayan Riviera. They are 5 star timeshares that you can easily rent and use all of their sister properties.

Don't stay at Dreams. My sister got married there. Food was good, not great (it's all inclusive) until her SIL, BIL and nephew got food poisoning

eta: My sisters lovvvvve the Fiesta Americana Grand Coral Beach (there are several Fiesta Americanas and this one is supposed to be the best). They go to Cancun once a year lol...they have an all-inclusive option if you want that but it's not mandatory (my sister didn't get married there bec it was a lot more expensive than Dreams).
