from a past bride, but...

Remember to sleep and remember why you are getting married.

In the weeks before things got stressful with work, school and personal stuff, and I had to remind myself that I had to sleep at night, not to stay up to get stuff done, and to take time every day to remember why we were going through this.

If you're stressed about not finishing everything you wanted to do, then don't do some things. I wanted to do OOT bags but didn't have any time to so i just nixed them - nobody even noticed.

Also, even the biggest fight you have with your family or friends about wedding related things just disappears after the wedding's over. I had the biggest fight with my mom over the wedding menu ... it lasted about a week and i thought i'd never look at my mom the same after that! but now, everything is back to normal ... i'm happily surprised

Remember to eat!!! I barely ate on my wedding day and I sooo regret it. I heard the food was great. I ended up being super hungry at 2 AM..not good.

Also, make sure to take all the pics that you want! I got so caught up in the moment and rushing around that I forgot to take about 10 pics that I originally wanted to take.

And make sure to sleep and get your rest the night before.

I made myself a timeline a long time ago.

Now that my guest list is complete, I'm working on name cards. I assigned projects to certain people too.

FMIL is doing programs and name cards.

My Aunt will be taking care of my flowers being dropped off (didn't want to pay the outrageous delivery).

All I have to do is fittings, seating chart, shoe dying, and put together my BM gifts which I plan to do tonight since I got the last thing I needed yesterday.

Oh, and I need to make an RH list. I'll get that done sometime in the next week or so.

If there is something you want from a certain vendor, speak up. My seamstress told me that hook and eye was MUCH better then the strings for the bustle and my train was down the WHOLE night. The SLIGHTEST movement and my bustle was un-done, not even people stepping on it. I WISH the seamstress would have listened to what I wanted and I spoke up more about my fittings because I was uncomfortable and spent most of the nigth with people fixing my bustle.

SO SPEAK UP!!! Someone tells you 'O, this is better' thank them for their opinion and insist on what you want.

Sleep the week of.
I was up till 2am most of the week to finish stuff w/FH and I ended up getting pretty sick the day before and was on all sorts of meds the day of.
This totally could have been avoided if I slept.

Don't worry about the small things cuz no matter how organized you are you WILL forget something. My mom searched for months for the perfect ring bearer pillow and it was BEAUTIFUL! Of course we forgot it the day of in the limo.

Take some time and just sit w/FH to think about the day so far.

Give a detailed list to your photographer and MOH to have the day of. You won't remember everything you've wanted to give it to someone else to remember.

Step back from the party every now and then to just watch what's going on. It will give you a chance to really enjoy what's happening.

This times a thousand. Seriously, if you can't get it done and it's not essential (which 75% of the things we do aren't!) then let it go. No one will notice or care, probably not even you!

ENJOY it! understand that all things will not go as planned... and dont sweat it.

my husband and I like to drink, not going to lie.. lol but talked about NOT hanging out by the bar or make alcohol a large part of the wedding night. your at the bar, your guest will be at bar all night...(which is great! but we didnt want an empty dance floor either!) but if your on the dance floor, your guest will want to be by you...

my husband does not even dance (for good reason, LOL!!!!) BUT the min. we were announced we like never left the dance floor! your guests will feed off that and I felt like we set the tone for the rest of the evening. everyone was on the floor all night!

and pics, one of the limos got lost and ran behind schedule like 1hr and 40 min so we were rushed taking pics.. so again, it happens, no biggie...
but my one regret is that we also didnt take like 10 pics that I wanted to... so telling someone else about your 'must-haves' is a good idea...

Have a grea time!!!!

master your bustle... mine kept falling alllllllll night and kept having to be pinned up. the person who bustled me didnt bustle me correctly.

nothing will bother you that day, anything that happens its like you dont even notice or care, so dont worry about anything.

tyr to get a good night sleep! and eat a healthy meal the night before!!! i DID NOT and i was up all night with stomach pains, like really bad bad pains!!! i didnt sleep at all!!!!!!

dont wait until the last minute to get everything you want done. do as much as you can the weeks prior to get yourself together.

and a major major point i would like to make.... keep a typed up list of EVERTHING you have to do, cross off, and add as you go. this will help keep you organized and feel less stressed becuase its all written down and everything you have to do is right there in front of you. it may seem overwhelming when you first put the list together, but when you start crossing things off, it feels good.

enjoy your day, enjoy your ceremony, enjoy every minute of being pampered and best of all, enjoy your first moments as husband and wife!

Make sure you go around to every table to thank people for coming. We didn't get to spend as much time as we would have liked with all our guests and some people left without saying goodbye, but at least we chatted briefly with everyone and thanked them for coming

Same happened to us. We realized on our honeymoon that we didn't get certain shots with certain people... Oh well. Giove your photographer a list in advance.

THIS!!!!!!!! I know everyone says this but it's so true - everything works itself out in the end.

Take a moment every once in awhile for you and your new DH to take it all in... we would get bombarded by people on the dance floor and then we would sneak away to the bridal suite for a minute or even getting to sit and have some of the delicious food together! They were our quiet moments in the excitement of it all!

If you are unhappy with something don't be afraid to speak up. You will only wish you had spoken up later.

Get lots of rest and deligate certain things to certain people. Remember you can't do everything, it's impossible.

If something should happen to go wrong on your day... let it go. Don't carry a grudge with you all day or a chip on your shoulder you'll really only be ruining it for yourself. Chances are your guests wouldn't have ever noticed the mishap anyway.

CHERISH EVERY MINUTE... It really does FLY BY!
