My dog JJ is awesome, but he doesn't seem to listen to me so well when he does things like constantly barking at people, or doing something he shouldn't be doing...
We've only had him a month and he's an adult, I'm hoping that's why? Anyone else have this problem?

hang in there--oscar was a year old when we got him. he went through a barking phase and then it just ended. we tried spraying him with a water bottle when he barked. that worked great and we only had to get water on him the first few times. now we just show him the bottle.

We got Baxter when he was 1 1/2, in January. It's taken him a while to get used to us, plus we're never really sure what his life was like before we got him. We'll never know if he was abused, left by himself all the time, or anything, so sometimes things will always be a mystery.
But hang in there b/c it gets easier and better as time goes by!

thanks guys, I will try and be more patient when he doesn't listen!
jess, i WAS supposed to get a cockapoo but I think the breeder was shady because she emailed us during the honeymoon to tell us that the pup 'didn't make it'
but i don't believe a word of it because it was due to go home the day after our wedding so we think she sold it to someone else for more money. My friend also knows someone with the same breeder, same thing happened to her!
So instead we ended up adopting JJ (he's a year and a half old) from Save-a-pet! I think it was fate, he is an awesome dog!

Aw wow! thast great for JJ !! what kind is he?! and yeah i dont trust mixed breed breeders. they are so in it for the money.

he's a 'pure breed' cocker spaniel, though who knows where he's from!
