Any advice on making THE LIST?!?!

Any advice on making THE LIST?!?!

I had a list from the first wedding we were planning but it needs a lot of changes. I got a list from FMIL too, but it's hard getting my mom pinned down on her list. I'm just feeling frustrated. How should I decide who gets a guest? This is so frustrating!!!

Also, I'm worried we won't make our minimum

I was also worried that we wouldnt make the minimumbut I dont think we will have that problem anymore but what I plan on doing is send out the invites about 4 months befor this way if you have a lot of no's you still have time to send out more!

if you are worried about making your minimum everyone gets a guest!

what is your minimum?
you should make an A list and a B list.
the most important people go on the A list and if you get a few no's then you can always resort to your B list.
you should def invite people with guests if you are worried about your minimum.
also, the theory all RH tell you is what is your family to friends ratio.
family is always more likely to come as opposed to friends. so if you have more family, invite them!

normally the only people that get a guest is everyone in the bp (bf or not) and anyone in a committed relationship (married, engaged, or at least going out for 3 or more months)....but if u think ur not gonna make ur minimum then I would invite as many people as u can w/ guest

I agree...

If I don't personally know your 'guest' i.e. youre not in a committed relationship with them, thennnn you're not getting a guest!

buttt since youre in the opposite position im in...

if you need to make minimum then invite more 'guests'

ITA. I did this with my mom the other night, because were actually having a problem of making the minimum. I came up with about 25 extra people, but it's still a little under. But it helped a lot!

i agree... we aren't doing guests for our whole bp unless they are in a commited relationship.. we are trying to trim down our list and id rather pay for a friend to be there than have my FH friend's bring a one night stand

Oh wow i would of never thought of inviting people WITHOUT a guest. I dont think i would ever go to a wedding alone// But a coworker of mine invited her single friends ALONE

Wow, that is a steep minimum...My RH wanted 175 but i told him i would only book if he lowered it to 125...so they did and now i am not worried since I am inviting 225ppl,

OUr list is at 250 and our min. is 175. We should be fine. Plus our list right now is people we have to invite- we can't cut it down.

Maybe do a b list oo

For my plus guest people...I am only inviting them with a guest if they have a significant other for a long time (like at least 6 months) or they are traveling from out of state (farther than jersey). Otherwise, they get no guest. I'm not really into paying for someone random. LIke your friend who goes out a finds some guy to come with them.

My minimum is 175...but I'm inviting well over 200.

i really dont plan on inviting people that i know are not in a relationship...there no need to pay for random people...i mentioned this to one of my friends and shes like was in shock im like what...for me my lilst is over 300 if it wasn't then id be more than happy to invite the whole world lol.. n the friends who arent getting invited with a guest know people there its not like there alone

Re: Any advice on making THE LIST?!?!

I worked a little on 'The List' as often as I could. I used Wedding Wire's guest list application (which they changed and now I don't like it) whenever FH or my mom were talking about people they wanted to invite. I'd just log into a computer nearby and add those people and save the list. We wanted to get everyone we possibly could include on that master list first.

We had a problem with too many people on our list, so I started cutting people that I hadn't spoken to or seen in the last year or so off the list.

Our original plan to cut down the guests was to invite spouses of the people we were inviting, as well as people in the bridal party are allowed a guest. We wanted to extend the guest invitation to older unmarried adults, but we didn't have the room.

We'll revisit the guest list in another 6 months and re-evaluate the people who we've invited and not invited
