I might be able to help you. Weve had a summer house on Copake Lake my whole life.. Its about 30 minutes SE of Albany. I LOOOOVE it there.. I also student taught at Shenendehowa School District in Clifton Park which was great too! I also lived in Malta.

Re: Any brides familiar with the Albany area??
Hi there
I lived in Albany for 9 months so I know a little bit about it... It was tough for me to find an aprartment there to be honest because I really wanted to SEE the apartments. I ended up getting one that turned out to be in the literal GHETTO which I did not know before I moved in!
I eventually moved out onto Jay St - which is off of Lark - a very very popular area. I lived in the Knickerbocker Apartments - if you want info I may be able to assist you but I would have to find it.. The area around the washington park is nice - which is by The College of St. Rose.
It is a nice place to live. Things are much less expensive there!

I grew up 30 miles west of Albany and have lots of info if you'd like. It's a great place and if my career and FH's career were not based here we might consider moving back there. Housing prices are definitely more reasonable there, but be careful because some of the taxes are starting to climb as considerably as the ones down here. Are you looking to stay in downtown Albany area or would you like some of the suburbs. I think Saratoga is absolutely beautiful year-round and it's not too far from Albany if that's where you'll be working.
