Any dentists or hygenists on here? Having a tooth issue!

Actually, I don't really think it's my tooth, I think it's more my gum on the roof-of-my-mouth side. Last week I had eaten a chip and it poked me and ever since then, it's so tender and sore. I can barely chew on that side! I shined a light to see and it's all red and puffy around that tooth. I don't know if I need to go to the dentist for this... I feel like maybe I should just rinse with salt water and Listerine and maybe it'll go away by itself?

im not a hygenist but ive had teeth issues my whole life. i actually did the same thing last week. I jamed some potato chip under my bridge. Try flossing and then rinse with salt water. I also would go pick up some peroxil by colgate. its an antiseptic rinse. make an apt with the dentist cuz it might be too far under your gums and hell have to use the pick to get it out. hope that helps!
