In Nassau county preferrably? I am thinking of ordering through Netbride but don't want to ruin the alterations with a terrible seamstress. Suggestions? And how much do they usually cost (is it safe to assume they would charge less than a bridal salon?)

sorry, Laura- I haven't been living there long enough to give you any recomendations - does your sis know of anyone?
In my experience, cost of alterations depends on how much needs to be done. One of my BMs had a wedding last year where the dress came in literally 3 sizes too big and it cost her $75 to get it fixed.
Which dresses did you wind up picking? Do tell.

Oh Jenny c'mon now!!! You know me better than that! You think I made a decision that quick? It's only been like 4 months that I've been looking..... ha haah. No, i did not pick one yet - just making sure that i would feel comfortable should i choose to go through that service (to get a better deal). If it will cost me more time, money, and anxiety to find someone to alter it then it may not be worth the savings.
It doesn't HAVE to been in Nassau - I will travel if I have to for better quality of service.

my MIL is an excellent seamstress and has worked with many wedding dresses. She's works in East Northport - FM if you want her info.
