Any Father/Daughter Song Ideas?? I'm thinking you raise me up by J. Groban, any other ideas??

I have been looking for the 'perfect song' for the last 3 days and can't really come up with much! I'm learning towards you raised me up by Josh Groban. But for some reason I'm not ready to choose it, I still would like to look around.

To give you an idea of my situation, my dad and I are pretty close but we don't have a very personal/emotional relationship. If that makes any sense? My parents were divorced when I was younger I still see him every week to do dinner, play tennis, talk about work. Which is great but we don't ever get too deep, it's just not how we are. So when it comes to songs I want to find something nice, I'd like to find one from me to him, but nothing too too mushy or deep but at the same time I do want something sincere, I want everyone there to say aww.

Any help would be appreciated!!!! Thank you!

I think we will dance to you are so beautiful to me- joe cocker. It is the same song we danced to at my sweet 16 and his wedding. Is there a song that has been special to you in the past? Good luck!

That was one of FH's choice to dance with his mother... i think it's a nice sweet song... is there any song that means something to you? or that you listen to when you were younger and he did right along side with you?

me & my dad danced to 'A Song for My Daughter' by Ray Allaire...I had a close relationship with my dad growing up, but in later years he kind of turned into a mess & our relationship had faded. So I loved the song. It has really sweet lyrics, but not overly emotional... here are the words:

Just once upon a yesterday
I held you in my arms
You grew into a little girl
with lovely childhood charms
Now it seems I only turned around
And I see you by his side
Oh, I can't believe my eyes today
My daughter is a bride

I guess somehow I always knew
This day would soon be here
Still I wonder as I look at you
What became of all the years
And no words could ever quite express
The way I feel inside
Oh, I can't believe my eyes today
My daughter is a bride

All the laughter and the teardrops
The sunshine and the rain
I would relive every moment, Dear
If I could bring them all back again
But now, my love, the time has come
To send you on your way
So I wish you every happiness
And the blessings of this day
And I hope the love I've given you
Will forever be your guide
Oh, I can't believe my eyes today
My daughter - Oh, I can't believe my eyes
My daughter - Oh, my angel and my pride

I didnt' want a song that was too mushy either, so I picked 'Isn't She Lovely' by Stevie Wonder

I've never heard this but it sounds so nice! I am dancing to 'Sunrise, Sunset' from Fiddler on the Roof with my dad. I would definitely say that if there are any special songs you share with him, go with that. My best friend and her dad have 'I Got You Babe' as their song. I think it's cute when it is different and personal.

FSIL used that as her F/D dance song. I get all misty eyed whenever I hear it.
