Any Future NYPD wives out there?

Any Future NYPD wives out there?

is anyone currently married to, or about to marry into the NYPD?

If so, how did you deal with the invitation list? Was the whol squad there?

Please help!

i'm an NYPD bride!

this is a toughie--cause it depends on how close your FH is to his squad and guys in the pct. DH only invited his partner since they are close...otherwise he didn't want to have to pick and choose.

keep in mind its hard for a bunch of guys in one squad to get off together for a wedding. chances are your FH will want to invite his partner and maybe a few others. but don't feel pressured you have to invite the entire squad or command! most cops don't really care too much about weddings as it is. lol

wow i was lucky--no one cared too much about going to the wedding for us! i mean they were happy for DH, but understood we were having a small wedding.

might as well just invite them if you have the space!

for an NYPD touch, i had a custom made garter done.....satin garter in the classic PD blue and it said 'NYPD' in the font and white letters, and our wedding date was embroidered on the back. i have pics of it if you want to see!

I am a NYPD bride- I'm on the job and so is my FH. We are not inviting many people from our current commands. FH isn't inviting anyone, since he is really friendly with his whole command [he works in Highway] and I am inviting two people from my command. Though, we are inviting people from the command we used to work at- where we met.

Like the above poster said, don't think that you have to invite FHs whole squad. Just invite the closest to him. It can really get out of control!! As far as adding NYPD touches- I'm not doing anything. I was going to get a NYPD garter but decided against it. HTH!

I am a SCPD Bride and we are inviting everyone from his quad. We feel bad leaving anyone out. Fh told me it was all or nothing..so I guess all lol

Dh invited most of his unit from his old preient cause he was there for like 4 yrs and we went to all of there weddings... then his new precient, he just invited his new partner cause he was there for a few months.... we had about a table and a half of his NYPD friends

Marrying NYPD too!!! There are a bunch of us, not adding any NYPD related touches to the wedding. And as of right now FH isn't inviting anyone. We over invited with just family and close friends. He wants to invite a few people if we fall under my designated #, but as of right now it's not looking good!!!

had to add... just a caution... all the cops he invited from his old preicent got hit with over time that day and almost didn't make it... they all had to find coverage!

FH just graduated from the academy so he's not inviting anyone since we're getting married in 2 months. i guess we lucked out!!

As far as adding PO touches...We are having a mass ceramony in the church and rather than choosing a couples prayer...We are using the police officer's prayer and the police officers wife's prayer.

Don't know if you're into it....but you could get the Emerald Society to play when you enter/exit the church, or for your entrance to the reception. FH is from an NYPD family and his sister did that for her reception when she got married. Definitely a nice touch, people always talk about it....

My FH just grad. from the NCPD academy and we invited a lot of the people from his class. I am going to look up those prayers.

Sorry to crash, but Im an NYPD Bride also, and FH is having about 1 1/2 tables worth of his co-workers!! he has a mix of people though...some from previous precincts that he worked in, as well as his partners in the details he works for now.....

fh is inviting most of the people from his old command...he was there forever!! he is such a social butterfly so he was friends with eveyone! i am considering getting one of those NYPD garters too!
