My pics are horrible, b/c as soon as the flash went off it ruined the look of the centerpiece. I had the traditional spiral candle thingy, but instead of flowers at the top, I had winter greens and Sparkly birch branches - no flowers at all.

I am doing something like this-- somehting like this will be on some tables- also with a little ivy.. with big chunky candles.. Others will have a grouping of candles of various sizes..
We wanted to do something different than flowers..
There is a post of all flowers and centerpiece....I think by bethsiar. It is fabulous. Do a search. I got some great ideas!

There are a million things you can do. Depends upon how unconventional you want to be. A friend of mine did fruit centerpieces with sprigs of herbs... they were just as beautiful as anything I have ever seen in flowers. There was a note at the bottom explaining that after the wedding all of the fruit was being donated to a local food pantry. They bought the fruit in bulk, had friends help assemble them and then the donation was in lieu of a favor. You could also do something with pictures.

Not mine but here is something I saw that I thought was different and I loved... but I'm big fan of Calla lillies!!
mine was a mikasa st nick statue he was all white with hints of silver and irredesent (sp) hair and he was standing in a long display of flowers that were all white and white birch trees. i had faux snow and candles in bunches of 3 of each side of the table
