Pumpkin is a cute idea but was it dry inside? Did the cards fit?

I didn't make this one. The bride who made this said that her grandma got the barrel at a flea market in FL. So, I'm not sure how easy it will be to dupicate it....but I'm going to try. We're having a wine/vineyard theme. :)

It's not a real pumpkin, it's a fake one from Michaels. People keep asking me how I avoided soggy cards.

Because they're thin (not even half an inch), it's about the same space as a regular card box (and cheaper, if I'm not mistaken). Grab a 40% off one item coupon and it's cheaper still.

To get the cards out, just turn it upside down and you can shake them out. It's easy enough for you, but too obvious for some random ne'er-do-well with sticky fingers.

I wish I took pics, my florist has it now.

Its a little old wooden chest box, found it at Micheals, it was broken and only cost $2 easy to fix and we will put fake grape leaves around it.
Just asked florist to cut hole and arrange it nice on the place card table.

i made a cake card box that way i could get the navy blue more incorperated

i will (hopefully) be making this into a card box. Im planning on frosting the glass and FH will cut a slit in the top and then i will change the hardware to a diary type of lock. I might add a starfish or 2 on the bottom to match if i go with that theme

oh and paint it ivory cause it a lil too rustic right now

i did a chest that was hand stained/painted and then I added metal details. Very easy to be honest.

I'm going to do a card jar, just buy a big clear jar/vase, then put fabric over it and edge it and tie it w/a ribbon, then cut a hole in it.

But I really like that pumpkin idea! I might have to use that!

I was thinking of doing this if I couldn't get the barrel for cheap. :)
