Any Idea on finding a minister/justice of the peace?

I'm not sure what my first step would be. I appreciate your help/recommendations!

I'm also looking for a officiant for a non-religious (but spiritual) ceremony at the reception site. But, I got engaged only 1 week ago, so I'm still unsure of my date and location of my reception.

If you're having a reception w/a catering hall that also does ceremonies maybe they can give you some suggestions of who other brides have used? Or maybe you can visit some churches for a while and get to know someone?

Just some suggestions that come to mind. Good luck.

Im having the same problem...I found a few names and called one and he was crabby and would not hear of using any ceremony except his own (pick from 8) so my search goes on...I'm going to try to call the town I am getting married in and see who they have to offer...if that doesn't work...the county...and if that still doesn't work - we are going to get married the week of the wedding at the town hall and then figure something out for a mock ceremony...

Minster/Justice of the Peace Suggestions

Dear Gals -

I too had the same problem when I started looking for someone to marry us. I'm Jewish and my fiance is Catholic so we decided to have a non-demon cermony. We are having Dr. Glass perform our cermony. I have his contact information at home. If you e-mail me at [email protected] I'd be more than happy to give you his contact details. I also have a few other names of people that are good at performing cermony's. Best of luck to all.

Minster/Justice of the Peace Suggestions

I am Jewish and FH is Protestant. We are getting married at the Historical Chapel in Woodbury, and the chapel provides Reverend April, who posts on the vendor board from the Church of Ancient Ways. I made it clear to her that we wanted a non-denominational wedding - with no religious symbols (I was concerned what her robe would be adorned with, but she promised she will wear a solid black or white robe). I've only emailed back and forth with her, but she seems very nice and helpful. I will be contacting her soon regarding the ceremony, and we will write it together. If you're interested, just post a message on the vendor board and I'm sure she will answer you. Good luck!

Minister suggestion....

We (and a few others on this board) are using Rev. Joe DiVincenzo. His wife will write the ceremomy based on what you want (religious to spiritual to civil) whatever you want. We liked them a lot! He has a website.. http://personalized-weddings.com/

Rev. DiVincenzo

I met with two officiants- Rev. DiVincenzo and Rev. Susan Marlan. Both of them are extremely nice, however I thought that Rev. DiVincenzo offered a more personalized touch for my wedding. He works closely with his wife Judy and they are open to any ideas! They help you customize every part of your ceremony. The cost is $500.

We are using Rev Peluso of Art of the Ceremony...she is so nice and we feel we are going to have the special ceremony we want. She went out of her way to do our wedding and we have had meetings via Skype.....she makes herself available for any questions or concerns. She gets to know who you and fiance are and what you want and offers suggests on reading etc if you like. I am Jewish and fiance is Catolic and we will be incorporating traditions from both. Any other questions about her feel free to ask me.
