Any ideas for gifts for parents???
Hi everyone. My FH and I would love to give our parents a gift as a token of our appreciation for all of their help with the wedding. Does anyone have any ideas....FH and I are on a tight budget. Thank you.

Any ideas for gifts for parents???
I have found a couple of cute ideas...corny, but cute! First, I have seen these nice hankerchiefs...both for moms and dads. They come in a box with a cute little saying. I have seen them everywhere so you can just look around for them. And recently I was in Tri-County and one booth there has these ceramic pieces shaped like an open book, and there is a nice poem inside. They are only $25..they have them for everyone...mom, dad, friend, sister... I too am looking for something nice but not expensive. These things are small, but it's the gesture right!!!!!

What I did...
I got hankerchiefs -- just bought them at a flea market. They were plain with trim. Had them emroidered with my mom's name on one, and my step-mom's name on another. I wrote a poem for each -- it was the same idea as the ones they sell but more personal. Then I wrote a poem for my dad and framed it. We gave my MIL a purse size perfume bottle and mirror from Things Remembered with 'Mom' engraved (this went over very well :-) All the groomsmen & the fathers got a Leatherman. We had their names engraved on those too.

oh, thought of another one!
Another thing I saw was a frame that has 2 spots for pictures. In one, you put a picture of you as a child, and in the other, one of you as a bride! Some of the frames even have a spot to put a date below the picture. I thought that was nice too!!

my ideas
My parents are giving us a lot of money for the wedding, so for them I am getting them a flat screen TV...their's just broke... I am also getting both moms hankies and a frame from Things Remembered for an 8X10 pic...engraved with our children or my children (for widowed MIL) or maybe our names and date? you can include an IOU and say IOU one portrait of your choice from our wedding... what about the album? are you paying for the photographer? that is a pretty big gift if you think about it... for my dad I'm getting some cigars (in place of the hankies) still undecided for bigger gift for FMIL...
