I am trying to think of what I can give out as little edible thank you favors (aside from chocolate lollipops, since they are so common), that I could actually make myself at home and not have to purchase.
I thought about the large gourmet cookies with decorative icing on them, but I would have to buy them since I have no talent to make them.
Any other ideas?
TIA.

You could do Caramel popcorn, but that is pretty casual.
How about regular cookies (like chocolate chip) that are wrapped in a pretty way?

Martha Stewart's website has cookie favors on it..maybe there would be something you might like on there?
Who doesn't love brownies! But really it is all in the packaging. Even if you make cookies that don't look so great, once you put it in a cute box or bag with a bow it will look great! And I am a big fan of bar cookies beacuse they are easy to make in bulk.

Great idea with the brownies! So easy to just make! I believe Martha Stewart's mag had a brownie favor in it recently. You use round cookie cutters to cut out circles...you would use like a large, medium and small...and stack them like a wedding cake - sprinkle with powdered sugar and wrap in clear cellophane! Looks like a choc mini wedding cake!
I'm thinking of doing this myself maybe. Otherwise I am making mini pumpkin bread loafs...I make a delish pumpkin bread from scratch and my wedding is over Thanksgiving weekend!!! It would be a lot of baking though so I have to really think about it.
Here is a link to the picture....she gives a recipe to make from scratch but I personally would just use a box...boxed brownies are so delish! Martha Stewart Mini Brownie Wedding Cakes

I was actually thinking of these but didn't remember where I saw them. And to be honest, I bake a LOT, but I always prefer the brownies from a box!

Thank you. That is a nice website with good ideas and pics of them. Do you think there are directions on how to actually make that stuff? It looks so professional.

That is soooooooooooo cute!!! Thanks for the idea!!!
But how would the 3 layers stay in place if I made that and wrapped it in cellophane? Maybe insert a toothpick in it from the bottom?

Re: Any ladies that bake out there?
Smart thinking....I was thinking they might need a toothpick too for support!
Glad you all like my pumpkin bread idea...I wasn't sure if it was cute or bad idea or what....I'll have to shop around for the mini loaf pans now!

One of those cocktail toothpicks with the cellophane fringe stuff would be cute. Otherwise some frosting would hold those suckers together...and be delicious!

Re: Any ladies that bake out there?
Look at what else I found on Martha's website, that is similar to the brownie wedding cake.
Those are also really cool, but much more time consuming. Rolling out cookie dough is a pita in my opinion. And you can only put a certain number of cookies on a tray in the oven at once and then you have to frost them. Brownies you just dump into the pan!

I agree 100%, but they are so nice and professional looking, especially with the packaging!!
I wish I was a professional baker!!!

Re: Any ladies that bake out there?
I am going to make wedding cake cookies for my out of town guests. I'll use sugar cookies in three different sizes and stack them (two of each size) with icing in the middle and those edible silver balls on the edges.
