Any Larkfield brides????

I'm very close to booking but want to make sure I check out a couple more places; going to The Woodlands this weekend. I really love the all wood floor room @ Larkfield & outside patio. Haven't heard a bad thing about the food yet & the staff seems great! My biggest concern is another party, luckily not another wedding, will be happening at the same time. The only common area would be lobbey & bathrooms & the other party would start an hour before mine. I'm worried about my guests mixing in the bathrooms, which I guess isn't the biggest deal but more so the other party members somehow creeping out to my outside patio. I just want it to be as private as possible. Also while I'm taking pictures in the beginning, I'm picturing random people I don't know walking back and forth from the other party. Everything else seems great! Price is right, timing is perfect. Has anyone ever been there? Am I over thinking this? Help! Also would love any POV's on the Woodlands in Woodbury as well. Thanks ladies :)

all wood floor? that means the smaller room... which means you are almost guaranteed another wedding will be there.

in my opinion & experience, with the renovations, the rooms are too close and overlapping is guaranteed . not by the brides, but by the guests, bridal party, etc etc.
starting only an hour before is not 'staggered'-- read my review.

not sure what you mean by 'my' outside patio- it's shared all night, even if they tell you otherwise.

'taking pictures in the beginning'- they discourage that... and say they are done during the party normally. so basically, you have to gather your BP during reception.

it's not as bad as it seems by my comments --but basically dont think you are getting more privacy than you really will.

I was there recently for a wedding. It was beautiful but we did see the other guest. The other party was a quinceanera so there were a lot of young girls in the bathroom. If you are looking for complete privacy I would keep looking. I almost went with the Woodlands but went with the Royalton instead. The Woodlands would give you that privacy that you are looking for.

Any Larkfield brides????

Thanks for the feedback. Super helpful! The night we are looking at there's a big dinner but not a wedding, so at least not another bride. I wouldnt plan on the reception there either. How was the food? Also when you attened the recent wedding which room wee you in? bigger or smaller? Did you find guests were both using the outside cocktail terrace area?? I was given the impression the guests from the larger room smoke out front & it's pretty separate, other then the bathrooms. going to keep looking but haven't ruled it out completely. Thanks again.

the food was amazzzzzzinggggg and so much !!!!

our wedding was in the larger room

my smoker guests were in the front AND the cocktail hour and we were 'guaranteed' the cocktail hour all night-- and especially before our ceremony there. neither was true. both parties were in both areas. i'm just glad i quit smoking before getting married, i would have flipped because when we booked, i smoked and this was a concern.

I'm starting to get nervous. I'm getting married there in March- in the large ballroom. They said that the other event WAS NOT a wedding and is starting an hour later. I figured guests would overlap in the bathroom, but never gave much thought to the lobby, patio, and cocktail rooms.
Will they overlap!? I'm stressing!

We were in the larger ballroom and the food was very very good! I'm not a smoker but my friends who are did smoke out front. When coming back from the bathroom I heard the bride's father tell someone that the patio was open. No one knew that was still available to use.

I'm going to see if they will put in the contract that the patio, which the smaller room opens directly to, can be guaranteed mine! If they can, based on all the food reviews and my gut I think I could be really happy there. Plus the price is reasonable. Any tips to get add on's? Or even other venues worth checking out would be greatly appreciated. LOVE The Royalton in Roslyn but 2 friends just got married there and another is right after when we would want & they already booked, not a fan of the Lenard's of the world, love Somerley but the timing isn't right & not worth what they were quoting for October 2014. Going to check out The Inn at NHP but am not a fam of carpets in the Bellmore so we'll see....

they may put it in your contract since the other room isnt a wedding. just be honest with your concerns BUT have it all in writing AND consequences if they dont.

our problem was that we booked so far out that by the time the other wedding was booked, they 'overlooked' everything in our contract re: only wedding, etc.
