So I am American, my FH is Colombian. we are interested in playing some salsa at our wedding. We are curiouse if anyone on here has found a DJ that is experianced in playing both american and spanish music.
Also my FH is having a hard time coming up with a song to dance to with his mother, because she speaks only spanish he would prefer a spanish song. Any suggestions?

I am a mutt! Mom Panamanian/Trini and dad is dominican. FH is Puerto Rican. Our DJ is going to be playing a mixture of songs because of both our families.... FH is dancing with mom to english song but I will check my computer and ask FH.
as for music....we are using Elegancia Entertainment...they are AWESOME! FM me for more info, or just check them out in the latin american brides thread.
ETA: elegancia is very well versed in all spanish music as well as american!

My DH is Ecuadorian, I am American-Italian- We had a band, but they played a song in SPanish for his mother/son dance, he will be home in a little bit and I will ask him what it was, I dont remember, but I know that their guests were all crying!
as for music....we are using Elegancia Entertainment...they are AWESOME! FM me for more info, or just check them out in the latin american brides thread.
ETA: elegancia is very well versed in all spanish music as well as american!
We used Elegancia and they were very good.

We used Elegancia Entertainment, and they were wonderful. We had a half Dominican and Half Chinese wedding, and everyone was very happy.

Bravo sound international fh and i are the opposite my family is colombian and ecuadorian and hes italian american the guys at bravo are great and they have good prices

I am Dominican/Salvadoran and FH is Colombian... picking a DJ has been the absolute hardest thing in terms of wedding planning!!!! We met with Bravo Sound, who is a recommended vendor from our RH and had a realllly bad experience - the person we met with, a co-owner, walked out of the meeting because his girlfriend was outside waiting for him!!!! - and we met with Elegancia who we really liked, but they were not willing to negotiate the price at all (in our opinion, asking us to remove as many additional components to lower the price is not negotiating)... but these were just our experiences. We have heard really great things about Elegancia and wish we could have worked with them.

I'm Puerto Rican and he's Haitian We're having everything played at our wedding: Salsa, Merengue, Bachata, Kompas, Reggae, Soca, R&B and Hip Hop, can't leave our roots out! We booked with Ultimate Sounds DJs. We saw them at a bridal show, and visited other DJs in Queens and LI. We liked them best for their professionalism and variety. There were others but the package price at Ultimate Sounds was no comparison....They're the best!

We're both Latinos and we chose Elegancia for our DJs. A friend used them and so did some other brides. Look for their reviews..........they are really great and they are bilingual too. My FH is also having a hard time choosing a song. Seems like there are more out there for dads than for moms. I think Boyz II Men have the song 'Momma' in Spanish too if you want to try that. I'll FM you if we find something!

Myself and FH are latin as well. We'll be using Latin Brothers Entertainment. They're not well known here but we booked them after watching some DVD's where they played/MC at weddings. I'm happy to now know that 'itslaurie' used them for her wedding and really liked them.

For me, it's going to have to be that one unless I or my DJ comes up with something else. I should be focusing on that as well, but I'm focusing on meeting with the priest and he's not returning my phone calls.

I'm Colombian and DH is Polish/American. We hunted for the best DJ for us and found Energy Entertainment. Mark Cod is the owner. He is American but is married to a Latin woman, so he understands what you're looking for. He is truly great to work with. Did exactly as we asked. We danced ALL night. The DJ and MC were really able to bring both families together on the dance floor and we had a great time. If you setup an appointment with him he will show you videos of Latin weddings so you can get an idea. Energy Entertainment - Mark Cord
