Any lawyers around? -employment/privacy issue related...maybe even Civil Rights?
I recently changed my name. I kept my maiden name and added on my married name.
My company changed my email address to be my first initial and married last name (which is fine)
BUT, if ANYONE sends an email to me, they get my WHOLE profile: First Name, Middle Name, Maiden Name, Last Name.
Before, my profile had been my First name, Middle INITIAL, and Last name.
I want them to remove my maiden name from my profile, but they won't because it's 'company policy' to have EVERYTHING in the profile (except that my profile never had my middle name in it before, and I have 6 colleagues who also don't have their middle names in their profiles)
Now, I am in HR and I know that my company is not REQUIRED to provide ALL of that information in my public profile(I work with MANY clients, so basically my information is being made public)
Doesn't this violate my right to privacy? They are refusing to change my profile and I do feel strongly enought to contact a lawyer about this, but do you think I have a case?
