Any Lawyers out there?

Have a question about house closings... if you sign the paper work and the bank signs that they accept your offer... are they able to later decline it and counter offer for more money?
TIA girls - one of my BMs is having this problem.. i cant imagine you can sign an agreement and them change the pricing half way thru...
