We were never crazy about the idea of STDs but after enough friends said they were annoying and unnecessary, we decided to nix them after all and maybe just send an e-mail (haven't done that yet).
Thing is, we have a decent amount of OOT guests and I'd like to get the info out--do you think it would make sense to just send STDs to out of town guests?

I think for OOTers a STD is a nice thing to do....then they know plenty in advance to make arrangements...i would prefer getting a STD if i were coming in out of town b/c i like to plan things in advance.

i was only planning on doing STD's becasue my family hasnt had a wedding in such a long time and my mom wants people gushing over her!

I am planning on sending to everyone I know we are definitely inviting to the wedding (which is pretty much the whole list because we have no 'B' list). BUT, we are only sending 1 per household. Like my aunt and my cousin Laura (my BM) live in the same house and will be getting separate invitations to the wedding, but I am only sending on STD to the house for both of them.

i have told all the close family and friends the date but I think I am going to get a STD magnet. My sis did it and I loved looking at it! I would def mail or email OOT guests.

My feeling is if you are having a lot of OOT guest then STDs are a must!

We are not doing STD's at all and we have a decent amount of OOT guests...almost all the OOT guests are FH family..so we just made sure FMIL called EVERYONE and gave then the date...
I am not doing STD's and I don't think they are a necessity. I think that you can definitely only send them to OOTs, I think people will understand why OOT's got them and no one else did.

I'm not big on the STD's but I am getting married on a holiday weekend - so just with that in mind I am sending them out. Lots of people plan things surrounding memorial day. First kick off weekend of the summer and what not - but I think sending them just to OOT guests is a great idea.
Other people will understand - and if they don't - not your problem. If that is what you choose to do b/c it's easier and best for your situation, then that's what matters.
Side note - I hate the term 'STD's' LOL The 13 year old boy in my always chuckles when i read it lol
