Any nurses out there

I am really trying to get in a nursing program but it is so hard. Anyone work at a hospital that has a grant program that will send you to nursing school if you work for them. Are they hiring for anything at this point. Im desperate. Any feed back would help.

Thanks ladies

i jsut started an LPN program at Western Suffolk BOCES since all college RN programs have at least a 1 year waiting list.. its great so far... i just started in march they have another program starting in Sept. its a great place to start they have bridge programs from LPN to RN (even an online course) so you can do it at your own pace

Really I was told that as an LPN it would be hard to get a job. Hmmm Can you tell me more about this LPN to RN program they have.

if your willing to work in a nursing home its not hard at all to get a job. its somewhere to start...we all have to move up the food chain thats how i look at it... the LPN program is either 13 straight months (super FAST ) and or a part time program thats 2 school years (high school schedule) and then once complete theres an online school that boces works with that you can sign up and do your RN online and either get it done from anywere from 12monts -10 years.. how ever long you want to take.. the only thing is your clinicals are in albany (not sure of the specifics)

I am also in LPN school. I really like it. I am in my long term care clinical right now and start med surg in 3 weeks. I really like it a lot and from what I understand it is MUCH easier to get into an RN program if you already have your LPN.

you can also try to get a job in a hospital and apply for nursing school now.. most pay for college after one year so by the time you would be accepted the hospital should start paying for it. I work in forest hills hospital which has an 1199 union and any state school that we chose to go to is free.... after youve been employed for one year.

I wanted to go back to school for nursing also, but all the schools have a few years waiting list.
