Any October Brides????

Any October Brides????

We have officially decided to change our wedding to October 2004 instead of April 2004....it makes it easier since FI is a cook and April starts his busy season, and the BM is also a cook and is busy around then too...plus with us having to have an interfaith wedding, April is so difficult to work around the Holidays...

ANYWAYS, any of you girls having your weddings in October?? I am hoping to check out Vineyard caterers Easter weekend...Hoping to have a wedding the Sunday of COlumbus Day weekend...think it may be a little cheaper than Sat Night and a lot of the poeple we know have off on Monday...What kinds of prices did you guys get for Oct weddings? I do not even know where to begin, but don't want to go any further than East Wind (coming from Sag harbor) And do not want to drop any more than $100 a person...any advice would be totally appreciated!!!

Re: Any October Brides????

Hi! I am an October 2003 bride. Just an FYI on the Columbus Day weekend. If that's the weekend you want, I'd go now to go book it. I went in July 2002 for that weekend and it was BOOKED! So we went with the week after.

Anyway, as for prices, I believe October is peak time for weddings, so you may come across higher prices for that month.

Vineyard Caterers looks gorgeous, I'd definitely check them out! I wanted to go there, but it's just WAY to far for us! Perfect location for an autumn wedding!!!

Hi Holly,

I'm October 25, 2003! 201 days from today - it's getting a little freaky.

Anyway, I digress! I agree with Lauren's statement - according to most of my vendors - October is the 2nd most popular month to get married - right behind June. You can definitely find stuff under $100pp - I would just start looking soon. We're doing under $100 a head, but that's before tax and tip.

Good Luck!!!!

I think under a $100 p/p is totally doable.

hey- I'm Oct. 19th and my clock has me at 195 days??? Karen- how can you be 201 days if I'm 2 weeks after you? oh well- computers!

Good luck! October is a great month for a wedding. Most vendors will tell you that Sept./Oct. is the most popular month and try to charge you slightly higher. (don't believe everything you hear)

MV1003 - i just realized my original post was unclear. we're 10/25/03 - 6 days after you!! i meant October 03 to mean 2003 instead of 2004

Re: Any October Brides????

Hi I'm also a Columbus Day weekend bride! Sun. 10/12/03!!

We booked Feb.-March 2002 for our October 2003 wedding & paying $60/pp. We saved $25/pp by having our wedding on a Sunday nite in Oct. as opposed to Sat. or June. & we added something on it was originally $58/pp. Only Leonards tried to charge us more for this weekend cuz of Columbus Day.

Good luck to you & happy planning!
