Any of you just too overwhelmed to plan anything?

When I think of me wedding I swear I can not breathe! I love Anthony & I would love to marry him - thats not it at all. Everyones like you have to do this, you have to do that and I cant! My sons been sick, then Im sick, Im taking 9 grad credits this semester and teaching full time and moving! Have any of you ever taken a break from planning for your own sanity?

Now that I moved to to my FFIL backyard in Belle Terre I need a tent, dancefloor, caterer, everything!! :( All I have is my dress, slip and thats all LOL I either need to get a move on or move it to next summer

Have you looked into any of the other things? Be careful that it doesnt wind up running you as much as JT would've because then you gave up you deposit for nothing. Atleast you got your dress that's gotta be a big weight off your shoulders.

Amy - relax. Do you have anybody helping you? I understand your time constraints and the stress. I also have kids, work full time during the day and school full time at night. It's tough but I want my wedding day to be a happy day.
Research what you want and then...
Delegate, Delegate, Delegate

Good luck.

yep and my FFIL and FMIL are meeting with us soo because they want to tell us what they are providing for us. I NEVER asked them for anything, so this is really super nice of them!

It sounds like you need to just take a weekend, get someone to watch the kids, and knock out all of the big arrangements. Then you should be able to breathe again!

Capulet72 is right weigh all the options because sometimes the backyard ends up costing just as much. My friend did it, thought it would be cheaper and wasn't by far after all the renting of EVERYTHING. It was absolutly wonderful but cost wise it wasn't any cheaper. Just some more info. to rack your brain more, as if you needed it. lol

Amy-Relax!!! Get hold of a pennysaver, look up tent companies. They all rent dancefloors, tables, and chairs, or can recomend someone who does. That out of the way call up caterers and only pick one who supply their own plates, glass, etc.

You will be fine. And we are all here to help.

Take a deep breath...I like the idea about trying to get it done in one weekend if that's possible. I'm sure you'll feel better ater your dinner of Wednesday. Good luck!

It won't be as bad as you think.....you can probably rent the tent, table, chairs,, and dance floor from the same company. Call a couple of places, get a few quotes, and you'll be well on your way. happy planning

Yes, I take breaks from planning all the time, but they never last as long as I say they will. It still does help. I run my own business and I have to keep my focus and it is not easy.

You have taken on more work by having to plan a wedding at a house. Think about hiring a wedding coordinator. It might even save you money, as they know where to get things.

its very common to get stressed out with the wedding planning. So much is going on, so many emmotions, that ontop of everything else, overwhelmes you.

Try taking it one step a time. To me, a todo list really helped. Saperate by what you can do by months, and as you see things crossed off, it will make you feel better.

Also, if this is really not what you want, you can always elope!

Sorry for the long response :-(

Hi,

I'm pretty sure that I posted to your request for a list of things needed for a backyard affair. I hope that you were able to get to those websites.

Like a previous post had mentioned, you can probably get the tables, chairs, floors from the same company (and get a great deal because of that). Lists are amazing to make because not only do they keep you organized but they are really motivating. Being able to physically cross off tasks from a list makes the completion of one task that much more tangible.

If you need to take breaks, by all means, take the breaks. There is no reason for you to get stressed out and haggard. Your day is going to be beautiful, your family will be around you, and most importantly, your FH will no longer be FH, but DH!!!!!! And what a wonderful transition that will be.

I think everyone gets a little overwhelmed by the planning process. I'm not even attempting to plan for the wedding and I'm ready to tear my hair out. I'm in the midst of planning for the engagement party.
