I'll be a month away from 31 when we get married. A lot of my friends are on their way to having kids(or they'll be preggo at our wedding...we'll do a baby bump dance). I just think that if I married either of the 2 guys I was seriously dating earlier in my 20s, I would have been miserable and on my way to divorce court!

When my FH was in the army we were stationed in Ft. Campbell KY. The average age there for getting married had to be 18. I swear there were girls younger than me celebrating there 10 year anniversary.

FH is in the army and we're stationed at Ft. Bragg and it's just as bad...people are divorced by 21!!!

Lol! FH is older than me also, age doesn't matter to me as long as the couple is ready!

Just a note from the other side of things... I'm 23. I cannot tell you how many looks of surprise or disapproval I get when I tell people I'm planning my wedding. I think getting married in your 30s is certainly more socially acceptable then getting married in your early 20s.

But I mean - FH and I have been friends for 10 years. We've been dating for 4. We grew up together! We live together, far away from our parents. We both have full time jobs that we enjoy, completed our educations (I might go back for Ph.D. down the line but not now.) We're paying for the wedding ourselves.

It's silly. Age is just a number and everyone is different. I met a woman who married the man of her dreams and had an amazing wedding and she was 60!

I'll be 32. I always thought I was going to be married by 28. I met him when I was 28, maybe that's what I was thinking, lol.

I think it might be an Army thing lol Thank your FH for his service!! Is your FH a lifer? My FH was going to be a lifer but he got hurt in Iraq and had to get a medical discharge due to his injuries.

I win the oldest bride to be ( though I'm not sure that's an award I want). I will be 36 by the time we tie the knot. Believe me, I thought I would have been married long ago.

I'll be 30 and FH will be 37 when we get married. I also thought I'd be married by the latest 25, but it didn't work out that way and I'm happy it didn't :) I was able to accomplish so much in my life and travel. It's unforunate that society dictates what's the 'norm'.
