Any one doing Pre-Cana (Pre-Marriage Program/Catholic Church) ?

We had our meeting with the priest last night. Next is the 8 hour class on a Saturday for $110 per couple. This should be fun!

Ugh I still have yet to meet with the priest and book the church. I'm dreading starting the classes.

I could be wrong but I thought you had to do the class when you are a little closer to your date... ams I wrong or do you think different churches have different policies?

Be careful, my church told me that all my documents including pre-cana needed to be dated within a year of my wedding date!!

You don't necessarily have to do one class- they have a lot of options on www.pre-cana.org. We are doing 3 2-hour classes on Tuesdays starting Nov. 3rd and it was $200.

Our church said that our paperwork needs to be closer to the wedding, but that we could do Pre Cana now. They were actually going to sign us up to do it now...but my sister is getting married in July '10 and we would have wound up in the same group as her which they wanted to avoid, so we're waiting til next year.

And also...we're looking forward to it! Our priest told us that he has everyone watch Everybody Loves Raymond, and then discuss it.

Jessie: our priest told us it was too early, and that we should go sometime in late 2010, early 2011. I don't know whose or what kind of rule that is, but we're waiting. We did book our church in the meantime though.

We are probably going to do pre cana sometime over the summer. I don't think we can start this early. I don't really have the time to do it now anyway, i'm soo busy.

I am so confused... so since when do you have to pay for pre-cana? I met with our priest and he said that we could join the sessions start next January (which is great)... but he didnt mention anything about it costing anything!!!
